Schoeps M221f

The M221 is the first 20 mm diameter pencil format microphone. It was first released in 1954 and uses a n AC701 valve.
Many capsules can be fitted and switched easily, the most convenient is the omni/cardio 934 c.
The MK21 hypercaedioid is also a very desirable capsule, with a nice off axis sound.
The MK26 offers three directivities but is probably the worst capsule Shoeps has ever made. To be avoided.
The 221, a great classic, was reissued in 1996. It was made to keep the 221 spirit alive.
